Our History

A glimpse into our past.

The transportation industry is constantly evolving – and with that, so are we. Atripco is a third-generation family-owned and operated company, successfully in business for over 53 years. While many large shipping and courier firms have shifted away from collaborative practices with clientele, Atripco connects in a meaningful and transparent manner that some would say feels like family. thanks to the rise of e-commerce and the global transition to online shopping, our eagerness to adapt to meet the needs of the commercial marketplace has never been greater. Our company history may be long, but Atripco is poised for tomorrow’s future.

James Alexander, father of Ivan Service, acquired his first truck and operated J.A Service and Son Cartage, a local cartage company serving the Toronto market.

Ivan recognized the need for a same-day rush delivery service and overnight courier in the Toronto area. Hence the beginning of Atripco Delivery Service took shape in January.

Greg and Lloyd Service, sons of Ivan assume operation and ownership of The Atripco Group of Companies.

Ivan Service is the recipient of the Ontario Trucking Association’s Service to the Industry award.

In January Lindsay Service and Drew Service (Children of Greg) became owner-partners of Atripco Delivery Service having both gained widespread industry practice during their combined 25 years of direct involvement with the business.

For the first time, Atripco expanded its notable breadth of operations outside of Ontario.  A new office and warehouse are opened in Calgary, Alberta.

Atripco celebrates its 50th anniversary, capping off half a century of service to the Greater Toronto Area and beyond.

Atripco looks to the future with aims to integrate further sustainability policies, including a revitalized fleet of electric delivery vehicles.
